- Betwise Rank vs. Market Rank: Compare the Betwise model’s ranking with the market’s expectations. If the Betwise Rank is better than the Market Rank (positive rank_diff), the model may see potential that the market has missed.
- Betwise Odds vs. Market Odds: Check the value field to assess potential value bets. A value greater than 1 may indicate that the horse is underpriced in the market relative to the Betwise model’s assessment.
This information is crucial for identifying potential betting opportunities where the market diverges from the data-driven predictions of the Betwise Oddsline. Use this analysis to enhance your betting strategy and make more informed decisions.
Betwise Daily Oddsline: Field Key and Descriptions
To help you better understand the data provided in the Betwise Daily Oddsline (including in the per-meeting CSV file), here is a detailed explanation of each field:
Field Name | Description |
---|---|
meeting date |
The date on which this race takes place. |
course |
The name of the racecourse where the race is being held (UK and Ireland only). |
race time |
The scheduled time for the race, displayed in 24-hour clock format (e.g., 14:30 for 2:30 PM). |
name |
The name of the horse running in this race. |
betwise rank |
The Betwise Oddsline model’s prediction of the horse’s finishing position in this race (1 = highest rank, 2 = second highest, etc.). |
market rank |
The predicted finishing position for the horse based on Betfair market prices (1 = favourite, 2 = second favourite, etc.). |
rank diff |
The difference between the market rank and the Betwise rank. A positive number indicates the model predicts a better finish than the market predicts. |
betwise odds |
The Betwise Oddsline’s predicted probability (converted to decimal odds) that this horse will win the race. The probabilities for all horses sum to 100%. |
early price |
The Betfair market price for the horse at the time of the oddsline compilation. |
value |
A ratio calculated as market_odds / betwise_odds. It shows the difference in predicted winning probability between the market and the Betwise Oddsline. A value of 1 indicates no difference, less than 1 indicates the market sees a stronger probability than the oddsline, and greater than 1 indicates the oddsline rates the horse’s chances higher than the market. |
